Music Crush Monday – Vector tha viper


Tall, dark and handsome is just a brush on the surface when describing Vector tha viper. Super talented award-winning wordsmith is a jack of all trades. From his music to his Inoki republic franchise, he has shown us that he is here to stay.


Born Ogunmefun David Olanrewaju on 7th August 1984. He is the fourth of five children and is the voice behind the 2009 sprite commercial.

Vector has been widely celebrated as one of the best rappers from Mainland Lagos, Nigeria. Vector’s interest in music dates as far back as junior high in the year 1997. He was actively involved in social activities entertaining his peers from the stage as a young rapper.

In 1999 he formed a group “Badder Boiz”. They started writing their own songs and along the line, in the same year, they started performing at shows combining their various skills. They aimed at selling the underground sound to the surface. They recorded their first demo series in 1999.

Vectors music can be described as ”expressive art”. He uses his music as an avenue to let off some steam. Take for instance his song ”Confession”, he describes his ordeal with an unnamed ex.

The Nigerian king of rap recently held a concert which he tagged the ”Lafiaji concert”. The concert which took place on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, was evidence of the influence of the rapper on the Nigerian audience.

The album was dropped on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Vector self-produced 6 tracks on the album.

The album release was followed by the lafiaji Experience concert which held on December 27 at Freedom Park, Lagos Island.
