Sarkodie: How Ghana rap star got pissed & ended up not performing at #OneAfricaMusicFestDubai

Sarkodie was a victim of the clash of egos and poor time management.

It was earlier reported that there was a violent clash between Davido and Wizkid’s crew members at the One Africa Music Festival in Dubai last night.

Sarkodie who flew to Dubai with his team for the concert did not perform on the night because he felt disrespected by the event organizers and some Nigerian entertainers who performed at the Festival.

According to eyewitness reports, Sarkodie was supposed perform after Tiwa Savage but couldn’t because Wizkid delved into his solo performance right after his ‘Ma Lo’ duet with Savage. The organizers then informed the rapper he would perform after Tekno. But then again, Davido joined Tekno on stage unannounced.

The host, Banky W, mentioned that Sarkodie was coming up next, just to have been told again that Davido was coming on stage.

The Ghanaian act later announced via his Twitter page that he would not be taking the stage any longer.

He wrote: “Sorry to fans in Dubai but I’m not performing… hopefully I make it next time.”

Ghanaian act, Shatta Wale who has been bashing Wizkid of late, tweeted at Sarkodie over the Dubai incident.

Wale called out his fellow countryman, saying, “It is high time you respect your brand bro. They are using you too much. Don’t vex for the truth”.

Sarkodie, who had remained mum since the incident, responded to Shatta Wale, saying, “Nobody plays with my brand”.

Meanwhile, Wizkid and Davido’s respective entourage were said to have been involved in a scuffle after the concert.
