Emir Of Akko Leads Kyari’s Schoolmates On Visit To NNPC GMD.

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mallam Mele Kyari, today received a delegation from his secondary school led by Emir of Akko.

Kyari, who attended Government Community Secondary School, Biu between 1977 and 1982, in a tweet said he is grateful for the kind gesture towards him by his mates as it reminded him of his years in the Borno School.

Kyari’s appointment as GMD of the NNPC by President Muhammadu Buhari makes him the 19th GMD of the national oil company.

The former Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division (COMD) of the NNPC took over leadership of the corporation from Dr. Maikanti Baru who clocked the mandatory retirement age of 60 on July 7, 2019.

Prior to his appointment, Kyari served as Nigeria’s National Representative to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC.
