The support being given to female directors in Nollywood by Inkblot Productions and Filmone Distributions is second to none.
According to co-founder of Inkblot Production, Chinaza Onuzo, since Nollywood revolution has been driven largely by our female audience, it makes sense to hire visionary female directors and give them the platform to tell their stories.
Since 2015, Inkblot and Filmone have worked with female directors on films like The Department (Remi Vaughan-Richards), The Wedding Party 1(Kemi Adetiba). My Wife and I (Bunmi Ajakaiye), New Money (Tope Oshin) and recently embarked on shooting a new film, titled, Moms At War (Omoni Oboli)
Though the filmmakers are yet to announce dates for the release of Moms At War, Tope Oshin’s New Money will be opened to cinemas this month.
The star-studded film features Jemima Osunde, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Kate Henshaw, Dakore Egbuson, Wale Ojo and Folarin “Falz” Falana. Others include Femi Branch, Osas Ighodaro, Wofaifada, Daniel Etim Effiong, Adeolu Adefarasin, Kalu Ikeagwu and Bikiya Graham-Douglas.
