Popular preacher Dr Abel Damina has told Christians to stop expecting God to intervene in political matters.
Damina made the comments during a recent sermon.
The cleric also slammed pastors and prophets who predict election outcomes.
“Stop it. God is not involved in these things. You’ll hear a man of God say, ‘God said you’d be governor.’ It’s a lie. Leave that thing,” he said.
“We are men of God. We have no business prophesying over politicians. No. If you have any secular (political) ambition, we wish you well. Go there and do your best.
“Every government, including America’s, rig elections. That’s the way the system works. It’s all about survival. So, if you’re thinking of politics, start thinking about how to contend as a survivalist.
“So, if they’re stealing ballot boxes, steal your own. That’s the way the system works. If all of us are thieves, the one who steals the most becomes governor.”
