The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, is okay after feeling unwell during an event in Abuja on Thursday, the anti-graft agency has said.
“Sometime ago in Ibadan, we arrested a young man with 116 SIM cards,” Bawa was saying before appearing dizzy and wiping his face with his hand.
He then seemed to be struggling to continue standing.
“I think I have to stop here,” he said, returning to his seat where he slumped and had to be helped by other participants.
“The chairman…is hale and hearty,” the EFCC said in a statement shared on social media.
“This clarification became necessary following an incident today September 16, 2021, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he was giving a goodwill message to the National Identity Day celebration, felt unwell and had to return to his seat.”
