A building at Fanibi area of Akure, the Ondo state capital collapsed on Tuesday morning, trapping its occupants.
At least one person has died, residents who are now trying to save the others said.
The remains of the deceased, a woman, has been deposited at a local morgue. There are fears that the death toll could rise.
