Adetoun Adediran: First female deputy speaker in Lagos and former APC women leader dies ‘after brief illness’

Former deputy speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adetoun Adediran, is dead.

Adediran died early hours of Wednesday, after a brief illness, Daily Independent reported.

Adediran represented Surulere Constituency 1 in the 4th Lagos State House of Assembly between 1999 and 2003 and was the first female to be elected deputy speaker. Adeleke Mamora was the speaker at the time.

Adediran also led at the Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC).

She held many political offices including and was also the women leader of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
