An 18-year-old woman in Adamawa State has been allegedly caught trying to sell a boy she abducted.
Blessing John reportedly confessed to abducting nine-year-old Elkanah Samuel in Michika intending to sell him in Mubi to a prearranged buyer.
It was said that she wanted to buy a car and a house from the proceeds.
Elkanah was declared missing on February 19 but two days later, Blessing was reportedly found with him in Mubi.
Blessing, a neighbour to Elkanah, was said to have concluded arrangements with a buyer in Mubi that she would be bringing the boy to him.
She could not contact the buyer on the phone and then boarded a tricycle with the boy to Unguwan Kara in Mubi described to her by the man. She failed to locate the man’s house.
She met a person whom she asked whether he knew the man who promised to buy the boy, it was alleged.
The man was said to have immediately mobilised people and reported the matter to police.
Police spokesman Suleiman Nguroje said Blessing would be charged to court after investigations.
