A socio-political organisation, The Progressive Group of Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside local governments, on Monday, celebrated the 61st birthday anniversary of House of Representatives deputy minority whip, Hon. Adesegun Adekoya, in another dimension as they purchased his nomination form to seek for reelection to the national assembly.
The group, headed by Mr Femi Sosanwo JP, stated that the remarkable achievements of Hon Adekoya, in his constituency, influenced their decision to obtain the form on his behalf.
According to the group, the federal constituency has never witnessed it so good in the delivery of democracy dividends since democracy returned to the country.
The group argued that Hon Adekoya’s tenure has attracted over 173 laudable projects to the three local governments areas namely Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside.
Meanwhile, Muslim clerics all over the state on Monday gathered at Hon Adekoya’s country home in Ago-Iwoye to offer prayers for his wellbeing and for more impactful leadership from him.
The clerics, in separate interviews with journalists, said Adekoya’s time at the green chamber has been multiple blessings for the people of Ijebuland.
In his short remarks, Adekoya thanked those who came from far and wide to be part of the prayer session, stating that God and the people of the constituency have been the major pillars of his success.
Adekoya promised not to let the people down, as he he said he will continue through quality service to bring smiles more to the faces of his people.
In attendance at the event include Engr. AbdulAhmed Mobolaji Martins Kuye, Chief Imam of Ago-Iwoye, Sheik Ali Shittu and his entourage, Branch Missionary Nasfat Ago-Iwoye, Methodist Bishop of Ijebu Diocese Rt. Rev. Dr. Solomon Adegbite Abayomi, Alhaji M. B. Idris, political associates and family members.
Others were Constituency Progressive Leaders, Attacker Famous leaders, representative of Egbe Bobagunte Okunrin Akile Ijebu, Branch Executive and Missionary of Nasfat Ago-Iwoye, Missionary of Ansrudeen Society of Nigeria, Imam Abdulsalaam Alikinla, Qareeb Branch Missionary of Ago-Iwoye Alhaji Yusuf Badawiyu, Alhaji Lukman Mutolib Adetunji (Al-Ajikoo), the Chief Imam of Papa Iwo Land, Alhaji M. B. Idris and other political leaders across the federal constituency, market men and women, students union of tertiary institutions, community development associations including friends and family.
