The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) will present a Muslim-Christian ticket for the 2023 presidential election.
This is according to the party’s presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Kwankwaso, a Muslim from Kano, says his party will name a substantive running mate by or before Friday and that the person will be a Christian from a part of Nigeria’s south.
Kwankwaso, who gave the assurance during an interview with Arise TV on Sunday, said his party’s preference for a Muslim-Christian ticket was borne out of the need to balance the religious dynamics of next year’s presidential poll.
