Police Smash Kidnap, Gun-Running Syndicates Across States — 15 Suspects Arrested, Arms Recovered
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 12 suspected kidnappers and 3 gun-runners in coordinated operations across multiple states, recovering several firearms and ammunition. Acting on credible intelligence, operatives in collaboration with vigilantes and hunters made significant arrests in Taraba, Kaduna, and other states.
Key arrests include four men in Taraba—Shehu Ibrahim, Abdullahi Haruna, Yusuf Bello, and Mohammed Bako—caught planning a kidnap, with three rifles and 45 rounds of ammunition recovered. Another raid led to five suspected kidnappers being arrested and more arms seized. In Kaduna, three kidnappers and three gun-runners were also apprehended, with locally-fabricated weapons discovered.
The Inspector-General of Police commended the operatives and reiterated the Force’s dedication to protecting citizens. All suspects will face prosecution after investigations.
