Court Sentences BRT Driver to Death by Hanging for Murder of Bamise Ayanwola

A Lagos High Court has sentenced BRT driver Andrew Ominikoron to death by hanging for the rape and murder of 22-year-old fashion designer, Bamise Ayanwola. Justice Serifat Sonaike delivered the judgment today, May 2, at the Tafawa Balewa Square, stating that the Lagos State Government proved its case beyond reasonable doubt. The tragic incident occurred on February 26, 2022, along the Lekki-Ajah Conservation expressway. While delivering the sentence, the judge declared: “For the death of Oluwabamise Ayanwola, you will be hanged by the neck until you are dead. May God have mercy upon you.”
