Mother Cries Out as Babcock Student Goes Missing, Demands Answers from School Authorities

Fijabi Oyindamola Omotayo, a heartbroken mother, has raised the alarm over the mysterious disappearance of her son, Oladipupo Siwajuola, a student of Babcock University in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State. In a tearful Facebook live video, she pleaded with the public, the university, and security agencies to help find her child, who has been missing for several days.

Omotayo said she personally dropped off her son at the university on Sunday evening, April 27, but has not heard from him since. Despite repeated efforts, she claimed the university has not provided clear answers regarding his whereabouts. “I was even at the school yesterday, and they told me students sometimes hide around the campus. But how can a university say that and offer no concrete help?” she asked in anguish.

In a follow-up post, she accused the university of shielding key individuals—identified as Lampard and Tobi—who were allegedly the last to see her son. “Can you explain why they are being protected? My son has not been seen or heard from in over 72 hours. My family and I are suffering, and Babcock is not being accountable. My son is not a piece of furniture,” she wrote.

As the mother’s emotional appeal gained attention online, Ogun State authorities stepped in. Emmanuel Ojo, Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Dapo Abiodun, confirmed that the matter has reached the State Commissioner for Education, who has been in touch with the university’s Vice-Chancellor. “The VC claimed this was his first time hearing about the case, but he now has the boy’s name, photo, and the videos shared by the mother. He has promised to investigate immediately,” Ojo posted on Facebook.

Dr Joshua Suleiman, Babcock University’s Director of Marketing and Communications, also confirmed the incident, saying the school is aware of the situation and that its security department is actively investigating.
