Tinubu sent Shettima to visit Buhari in London hospital – Report

President Bola Tinubu sent his deputy, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, to visit former President Muhammadu Buhari in a London hospital on Monday, according to The Cable
The former president has been ill for some time, as first reported by Empowered Newswire, but is reportedly getting better.
Shettima had been in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he was invited by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali to attend the official launch of the country’s Green Legacy Initiative. However, President Tinubu — who was on a state visit to St Lucia — told him to go to London instead to check on the former president
According to The Cable, President Tinubu asked Shettima to find out how Buhari was doing and make sure he had the support he needed to recover fully. Shettima flew from Addis Ababa on Sunday night and arrived in London on Monday. He then went to an unnamed hospital to deliver Tinubu’s message to Buhari, according to sources.
Stanley Nkwocha, who works as Shettima’s media aide, reportedly confirmed that the vice-president visited London. However, he said he could not comment on why Shettima went there because he didn’t tell him his travel plans.
After initial media reports about Buhari’s health, Bashir Ahmad, who used to work as Buhari’s special assistant on digital communications, said his former boss was in stable health condition. He confirmed that Buhari was receiving medical care but said the situation was not as serious as widely reported.
