“I just want to go home,” Okongwu Jessica Ginikachukwu said between sobs as she narrated her ordeal to GoldMyne TV.
She said she paid a travel agency N104,000 to facilitate her movement to the country.
“I don’t even remember the name of the travel agency but I know the name of my friend who linked me to the agency,” she said.
The friend is a woman (names withheld) from Imo State, she told us.
Jessica, who is from Benin, Edo State, said they promised her jobs and handed her over to an Indian woman who runs a legal business in New Delhi. But the woman wanted her to sleep with men for money.
“When I refused, she threatened to kill me. I had to flee for my life”.
One month ago, she managed to escape from the Indian woman and began staying with two Nigerian men who took her in. The men, according to Jessica, later demanded sex and threatened to throw her out if she refused to play ball.
Jessica says she’s now back on the streets of India and fearful that the men and women who wanted her to be a sex slave would find her and kill her.
“I just want to go back home,” she told us.
“I’ve gone to the Nigerian embassy to tell them everything. I begged them to deport me but they refused”.
Jessica has valid papers including an Indian visa that expires in April 2022. But she has no one and is stranded. She is pleading with Nigerians to help her return home.
