‘Certified Loner’ another proof that Mayorkun’s talent can’t fade [MUSIC REVIEW]
Since his emergence on the scene a little over six years ago, Mayorkun has yet to disappoint on the music front.
Known to devote his all when creating music, I was subconsciously guaranteed a good time listening to his new project ‘Certified Loner’ from start to finish.
If I can begin my review already, Mayorkun’s talent and skill can neither be altered nor diminished.
‘Certified Loner’ boasted of major vocal acrobatics as the singer belted some silky melodies heralding us into a whole new Mayorkun world, a world where he still struggles to be vulnerable and resilient simultaneously but does a fine job convincing us that he is fine and can do bad all by himself.
The song’s poignant and relatable lyrics evoke that feeling of wanting to hurt whoever caused Mayorkun pain.
As the singer croons through the entirety of the song claiming not to have been affected by the end of a relationship, we can not help but celebrate his gifted way of at least awakening the first process of healing after a heartbreak, affirming that you are hurt and still hurting.
The singer came through on this record and, yes, he did not disappoint as expected.
‘Certified Loner’ is both a sad long song and one record you can bop your head to while sipping or relaxing on a beach and sipping margaritas.
