Court Rejects Emefiele’s Bid to Reclaim Seized 753-Unit Estate in Abuja

An Abuja High Court has dismissed former CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele’s attempt to reclaim a massive estate in Lokogoma, Abuja, comprising 753 duplexes and apartments. The property had been forfeited to the federal government following an EFCC seizure.
Emefiele argued he was unaware of the forfeiture case due to the notice being published in an obscure newspaper section and claimed the EFCC concealed the process. However, the court ruled that the anti-graft agency followed due process and provided adequate public notice. His failure to respond on time led to the dismissal of his application.
