Detty December Fest Lights Up Lagos, Sets New Standard for End-of-Year Entertainment

Dubbed “Africa’s Real Summer,” Detty December Fest took over Ilubirin, Lagos, from December 7 to 29 with a month-long celebration of music, culture, and vibes. With four major highlight days, the festival pulled in global superstars, top African acts, and hundreds of fans, quickly cementing its place as one of the most anticipated December events on the continent.

The festival was headlined by international heavyweights Busta Rhymes and Gunna, alongside standout performances from Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Shenseea, Phyno, Diamond Platnumz, Fave, Qing Madi, Juma Jux, and more. Opening night wowed the crowd with a dramatic aerial ballerina display, followed by performances from Wande Coal, Young Jonn, Ice Prince, Darey, Fola, Shoday, and Jerry Shaffer.

Detty December Fest also earned recognition from the Federal Ministry of Art and Culture, with Minister Hannatu Musa Musawa praising the festival for boosting Nigeria’s cultural footprint and attracting holiday tourism. Speaking on the success, organisers Deola Art Alade and Darey Art Alade described the festival as a true reflection of Lagos’ energy and growing love for world-class live experiences.

With its 2025 edition, Detty December Fest raised the bar for live entertainment in Lagos, reinforcing Detty December as a major driver of culture, tourism, and economic activity in the city.
