Gunmen have attacked some commercial banks in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, a police official said.
The incident took place on Thursday afternoon, according to the spokesman of the Edo State Police Command, Bello Kontong.
He, according to Channels TV, said the attack led to substantial damages to the affected banks, noting that details about the incident will be communicated later.
Reports say UBA, Zenith Bank, First Bank, Fidelity Bank and Union Bank were affected.
Several videos shared online showed people running from the armed attackers.
Other videos showed multiple lifeless bodies apparently filmed in the aftermath of the attack.
