Ganduje Welcomes Kwankwaso if He Joins APC

Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stated that the party will welcome former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso if he decides to defect. Ganduje emphasized that the APC is committed to deepening democracy in Nigeria and that Kwankwaso, whom he described as a “fish out of water,” could still find a place within the party.

Ganduje likened the situation to a big brother offering shelter to a son in need, suggesting that the party would morally accommodate Kwankwaso if he wished to join. He also conveyed that the APC’s door remains open to him.

Meanwhile, Yusuf Ata, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu, reaffirming their commitment to securing Kano State in the 2027 elections. Ata also stated that the influence of the “Kwankwasiyya movement” and its red caps in Kano was diminishing, adding that while he personally may not want Kwankwaso to join the APC, he would respect the decision of the national chairman if it happens.
