GoldMyne Woman of The Week: Olori Atuwatse III, An Epitome of Royalty, Impact and Excellence

Olori Atuwatse III (née Ivie Okunbo‑Emiko) is the Queen Consort of the Warri Kingdom as she is married to Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri. She brings together a rare blend of tradition and modern excellence as she is a trained lawyer, who got her LLB from London School of Economics, an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and global advocate for youth and women empowerment.

Her journey from legal practitioner to contemporary queen reflects purpose and a deep commitment to social impact. That’s why this week, she is the GoldMyne Woman of the Week.

She makes impact and leads in different aspects of life. Through empowerment and education where she is deeply invested in nurturing human potential, especially among women and children in the Niger Delta. Through her foundation, Royal Iwere Foundation (RIF), she supports education, skills training, and community development in remote communities.

Also as regards health and welfare, understanding the health challenges facing many riverine and underserved communities in the Warri Kingdom, Olori Atuwatse initiated health and welfare programmes, offering free medical outreach, maternal and child care, education support, and efforts to reduce infant mortality.

She’s part of a new generation of African royals who use their platform for advocacy, development, and bridging tradition with modern values. She is a devoted wife as who claims that her husband is her greatest supporter.

In 2025, she was unveiled as pioneer Ambassador for Girls by Plan International Nigeria. A role that underscores her dedication to gender equality and girls’ rights across Nigeria. Under this partnership, the foundation plans to launch the “Royal Iwere Girls Hub” to give young girls safe spaces to learn, grow and lead.

As GoldMyne Woman of the Week, Olori Atuwatse III isn’t just being celebrated. She’s being upheld as a benchmark. She shows us that royalty can be combined with purpose.
