Benue governor Samuel Ortom says the plight of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Nigeria now takes its toll on his sexual life.
Ortom said he also loses sleep whenever he thinks about the IDPs who had to flee their homes because of bandits and other attackers.
Ortom made the comments while reacting to Senator George Akume’s call for a state of emergency to be declared in Benue. Akume is the minister of special duties and inter-governmental affairs,
“Even when I’m on top of my wife and I remember the people in the IDP camp…,” Ortom said.
“…it goes flat” the crowd he was addressing reacted, and Ortom smiled in agreement.
