Kunle Poly, Sego arrest: ‘I told police to deal with any NURTW troublemaker’ — MC Oluomo [VIDEO]
Lagos chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, has opened up about recent violent clashes in Idumota and other areas of Lagos Island.
“I am the state chairman of the union,” Akinsanya, who is popularly known as MC Oluomo told GoldMyne TV.
“I don’t know anything about the clashes. I have told the police to investigate them and hold anyone found culpable responsible.
“Those involved should face the law,” MC Oluomo said.
“If anything is happening in a sub-unit of NURTW, the head of that unit is supposed to write to the state body for information and intervention.
“But Kunle Sego has been unreachable. His number does not even go.
This evening, Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrested Kunle Poly ans Sego in connection to the clashes.
The police described both NURTW members as “the two principal suspects in the constant clashes in Idumota and its environs which has intermittently crippled commercial activities in the area.”
“The arrest was effected today at a meeting where the two NURTW members along with some other stakeholders converged.
“The latest clash which occurred last week Thursday reportedly led to the death of a victim while commercial activities were paralyzed in the area for some time until a joint team of police officers were deployed immediately to the area to restore peace.
“Kunle Poly and Sego are presently being transferred to Zone II, Onikan, Lagos,” the police said.
