
On Saturday, 29th November 2025 was a solemn but great one as Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe Adeoti celebrated the life of her beloved mother, Grace Abisola Owodunni, at the Jewel Aeida Event Center, Lekki, Lagos.

In the wake of the ceremony, several friends and colleagues took to social media to offer condolences and praise Mercy for her strength. One particularly heartfelt message came from her husband, Kazim Adeoti, who wrote on Instagram:
“I want to appreciate my wife, the woman who brings so much light, beauty, and calmness… These past few days have shown me again how strong she is… I admire her strength, her heart, and her quiet courage.”
Others also showed support and love as personalities from across entertainment and social media expressed respect for Mercy’s late mom by gracing the occasion with their presence.
In attendance were Nollywood Actress and SSA to the Osun State Governor, Laide Bakare, Nollywood Veteran, Bukky Wright, Kiekie, Aisha Lawal, Toyin Abraham, Toke Makinwa, Nelly, Darey Art Alade, Gbenga Akosile and his wife and many more.
The ever-inspiring Nollywood couple, Afeez Owo and Mide Martins also showed up to support one of their own, Mercy Aigbe.
The amazing group of close friends, Folagbade Banks, Diary of a Kitchen Lover, VeeKee James, Prudent of Prudential Atelier also showed up to the celebration.
Israel DMW, Abike Dabiri, Femi Adebayo and Adekaz also showed off their singing skills, which is a testament to the fact that guests had fun.
To light up the burial ceremony was a live performance from Segun Johnson.
Another performance was also given by Boy Best.
At some point during the celebration of life, Mercy Aigbe and her close friends danced in.
Shortly after the burial, Mercy took to Instagram to share a touching message of thanks:
“Yesterday, we celebrated our mother. Surrounded by her grandchildren and the love of friends and family, we felt strengthened. Thank you all for your prayers, kindness, and support. We appreciate you deeply. Fly high with the angels, Iyenogie.”
The burial of Madam Grace Abisola Owodunni was a tribute to a legacy and a gathering of love. Mercy Aigbe, supported by her family, friends, and an extended community, turned sorrow into a moment of remembrance and celebration.
