One of Nigeria’s most prominent traditional rulers, Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi lll, is dead.
SaharaReporters gathered that the monarch died on Wednesday evening in a private hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.
The monarch was 80 years old.
Muhammed Nalado Usman, Secretary, Lokoja Local Government Traditional Council, in a statement said the late monarch would be buried on Thursday afternoon in Lokoja.
Maikarfi III ascended the throne in 1992 and marked the 30th anniversary of the coronation in May.
