PDP: Southwest leaders meet in Ibadan, strategize over Ondo Guber polls

The Leaders and major stakeholders of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in SouthWest on Monday has said they have decided to put their differences aside and work together in order to ensure victory in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State.

The leaders made this known shortly after a behind closed door stakeholders’ meeting which was held at the Presidential Lodge of the Oyo State Government House, Agodi, Ibadan.

Party leaders in attendance included, Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Chief Bode George, the National Deputy Chairman (South), Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja, former governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, former governor of Osun, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former governorship candidate of Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, the 2023 Ogun state governorship candidate, Oladipupo Adebutu among others.

Addressing newsmen after the meeting, Governor Makinde who hosted the meeting said the meeting was meant to deliberate on the progress of the party and map out strategies to bring the party stakeholders together before the Ondo state governorship election scheduled for November, this year.

Governor Makinde and his Osun State counterpart, Governor Ademola Adeleke emphasized on the unity and harmony of the party stakeholders, which they noted was paramount.

They both believed that with the support of the party leaders in Southwest, PDP would emerge victorious in the November election in Ondo State.

Speaking with newsmen, Agboola Ajayi who’s the PDP flag bearer in the Ondo governorship election, appreciated the coming together of the party leaders, noting that their unflinching support would be enough to coast him to victory.
