Peter Obi responds to ‘labour to death’ comment, urges supporters to show Tinubu love because ‘there is dignity in labour’ [VIDEO]
Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, on Wednesday, campaigned for his party’s flag bearer in Saturday’s governorship poll.
“No more monkey dey chop, baboon dey work politics,” Obi told supporters who welcomed him to the state.
“Monkey must work and chop and baboon too must work,” he said, urging supporters not to sell their votes to those who are ready to buy them with stolen funds.
Obi told his audience to choose Labour Party’s Yusuf Lasun come July 16.
He also told the crowd to respond to Bola Tinubu’s hatred with love. Tinubu, on Tuesday, said Labour Party would “Labour to death”. The All Progressives Congress (APC) made the comment while campaigning for the incumbent Gboyega Oyetola on Tuesday.
“Don’t vote for mushroom parties,” Tinubu had said.
Although the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was missing in action, the party sent a strong delegation of top chieftains to campaign for Ademola Adeleke.
Delta governor and Atiku’s running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Sokoto governor Aminu Tambuwal and other PDP bigwigs turned up for Adeleke. So did world-famous superstar and Adeleke’s nephew David Adeleke, aka Davido.
Meanwhile, rave of the moment and ‘Zazoo Zehh’ crooner Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, has pitched his tent with Oyetola.
