Peter Okoye Blasts Family After Testifying Against Brother Jude in Money Laundering Case
Singer Peter Okoye has lashed out at his family after testifying against his elder brother, Jude Okoye, in a high-profile money laundering case. Jude, along with his company Northside Music Ltd, is currently being prosecuted by the EFCC for allegedly laundering N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.
Taking to his Instagram story on Tuesday, Peter, 43, revealed he had kept silent for over 20 years, enduring toxic family dynamics that almost ruined him. Breaking his silence, he questioned the true definition of family, saying it should be based on love, trust, and loyalty—not manipulation or theft.
“Don’t let ‘family’ be the reason you’re drowning in silence. I did – for over 20 years plus. And it almost cost me everything,” he wrote.
“But now I know better – love doesn’t manipulate, loyalty doesn’t betray and family does not steal from you.”
He added that real family should never drain, shame, or ignore one’s pain, stating that his mental health and peace of mind now come first.
Peter’s remarks come amidst mounting tension within the Okoye family, reigniting public speculation about the long-standing rift between the former P-Square brothers.
