Police assuage concerns about a possible bandit inflow into Abuja.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has urged Abuja residents to go about their lawful businesses without fear from any quarters, saying it has made all necessary deployments of both material and physical assets to protect them and the city from any security threat.

This assurance came on the heels of an online publication making the rounds on social media on the purported influx of some suspected bandits into Abuja, the nation’s capital.

According to the Commissioner of Police FCT, Benneth Igweh, the Command is working assiduously to ensure the safety of all residents and avert any intended attack within the nation’s capital.

Igweh, in a statement issued on Monday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, noted that the attention of the FCT Police Command has been drawn to the said online publication.

He, however, appreciated members of the public for their outstanding environmental alertness and admonished the general public to always give useful information to the Police, to aid its efforts in the fight against insecurity within the state.
