Police Deny Reports of Boko Haram Arrests in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed reports claiming that hundreds of Boko Haram suspects were arrested in the state. In a statement released on Friday, spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that an investigation ordered by Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, found no evidence to support the claims.

According to the police, no Boko Haram members were seen, sighted, or arrested anywhere in Lagos. Authorities also visited trailer parks mentioned in the false report, where community leaders and operators confirmed that no such individuals had been present or apprehended.

“The report is entirely false, malicious, and aimed at spreading fear,” Hundeyin stated. He urged the public to disregard the write-up and continue their daily activities without panic. He also advised journalists to verify information before publishing to avoid spreading fake news.

The police assured residents of their safety and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and security. Suspicious activities can be reported to the nearest station or via the control room line: 08063299264.
