Pro-Fubara Supporters Storm Streets, Demand Governor’s Reinstatement in Rivers

Hundreds of Rivers State residents on Tuesday staged a massive protest in support of suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, demanding his immediate reinstatement.
Dressed in black and wielding placards with messages like “We want back our Governor, we all voted for” and “Governor Fubara is the pride of Rivers People,” the demonstrators began their march from Aggrey Road in Old Port Harcourt Township.
The protest comes amid ongoing political unrest in the state following President Bola Tinubu’s March 18 declaration of a State of Emergency, which led to the suspension of Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and members of the state House of Assembly.
Tensions remain high as both pro- and anti-Fubara protests continue to divide the state.
