Sanwo-Olu Gifts N10m to LASU Best Graduating Student, Celebrates Academic Excellence
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has awarded N10 million to Isioma Sybil Nwosu, LASU’s best graduating student for the 2023/2024 session. Nwosu, a Biochemistry graduate, earned an impressive CGPA of 4.93.
The announcement was made during LASU’s 28th Convocation Ceremony held at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, Ojo. Represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his government’s dedication to quality education, stating that academic excellence deserves as much celebration as achievements in entertainment or sports.
The event also featured the conferment of honorary doctorates on notable figures like NDLEA Chairman Buba Marwa (retd.) and former Deputy Governor Otunba Femi Pedro.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello applauded the state’s continuous support and disclosed that 43 out of LASU’s 44 courses were recently accredited. A total of 11,917 students graduated at the ceremony, including Diploma, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral degree holders.
