Last night, suspected bandits attacked an Abuja-Kaduna train.
They reportedly planted an explosive that damaged the rail track and shattered the windshield of the train engine.
They also opened fire, targeting the driver and the tank. The attack happened between Dutse and Rijana stations, reports say. The driver managed to move the train away from the suspected bandits and towards Kaduna’s Rigasa station.
According to former Kaduna Central senator, Senator Sani, “This early morning, I was on board when our train ran over another explosive that damaged the rail track.”
“The train nearly skidded off its track. Then, we miraculously escaped. All Abuja-Kaduna train operations need to be suspended for today until this issue is addressed.”
