Skales’ “Shake Body” Makes Stunning Comeback 10 Years After Release, Thanks to TikTok and Viral DJ Remix

Nigerian singer Skales is enjoying a major comeback as his 2015 hit, Shake Body, has exploded in popularity a decade after its release. The resurgence is largely driven by a viral remix by Dutch DJ Onderkoffer and a trending TikTok video featuring 17-year-old FC Barcelona star, Lamine Yamal, dancing to the track.

Skales, born Raoul Nkeng-Njeng, officially re-released the remix on streaming platforms, and within 10 hours, it racked up nearly 200,000 streams—without any playlist promotion.

Reacting on social media, Skales expressed his shock and gratitude:

“This is crazy! With the momentum of Shakebody trending again, I decided to officially release this DJ remix I heard in Europe last year and in 10 hours, it’s already almost 200k streams with no form of playlist support. That’s craaazy… thank you Jesus !!! God indeed works in mysterious ways.”

Fans have also flooded TikTok with positive reactions:
