Sultan warns Nigerians against castigating leaders
The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA),Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar 111, has urged Nigerians not to castigate their leaders, but instead pray for them to succeed in delivering the mandate entrusted in them.
He made call on Saturday in Lafia in commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the emir of Lafia on throne as the 17th emir of Lafia.
He explained that only sustainable prayers can make things right in the country, as leaders need nothing more than prayers and good advises from their subject to succeed in the task ahead of them.
“I urged all Nigerians to sustain prayers for leaders for them to perform well for the task on them,” he said.
Also speaking, the Shehu of Borno Abubakar Garbai El-Kanemi advocated for credible information to security agencies on any suspicious movements.
He said the country is faced with so many challenges, and the only permanent solution to these problems are two.
“First we must pray to God secondly we must provide credible information to security agencies,” he said.
El-Kanemi explained that giving credible information to the security agencies would enable them carry out their constitutional duty of protecting the lives and property of citizens effectively.
“Credible information will go a long way in assisting security agencies to respond effectively to threats to lives and property,” he said.
In his remark, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state commended the 17th emir of Lafia Sidi Bage Muhammad 1, for his support in ensuring the success of all government programmes.
He said the primary responsibility of government is to ensure more development, as such, “We always need your sustained prayers in order for us to achieve.”
In his response, the emir of Lafia appreciated all those that came from far and near to rejoice with him.
