Taye Currency Laments N10m Loss to CBEX Ponzi Scheme

Fuji star Taye Adebisi, popularly known as Taye Currency, has shared his painful experience of losing N10 million to the failed digital investment platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX). During a stage performance captured in a viral video, the musician revealed he was introduced to the scheme by close associates who had earlier profited from it.

He explained that the success stories of friends like Sodiq, Lateef, Alaba, and Brother Muca influenced his decision to invest. According to him, Lateef claimed to have turned N200,000 into N600,000, which motivated him to withdraw his insurance savings and stake N10 million on April 1. Unfortunately, the platform later crashed.

“See my life in the open… everything vanished,” he lamented. An emotional Currency also cursed those who convinced him to join, saying, “If they die well, they won’t rest well.”

CBEX’s collapse has affected many Nigerians, with reports of losses exceeding N1.3 trillion. Users began experiencing withdrawal issues before their balances were wiped. The Securities and Exchange Commission has since declared that CBEX is not registered to operate in Nigeria and warned the public against doing business with it.
