Tinubu donates N1 billion centre to LASU [VIDEOS]

All Progressives Congress (APC) top shot and 2023 presidency hopeful, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has donated a centre to the Lagos State University (LASU).

The centre is worth N1 billion, official sources told GoldMyne TV.

Vice Chancellor Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Tunji-Bello, announced the donation at LASU’s 25th Convocation Lecture on Thursday.

The lecture was delivered by Lagos deputy governor Dr Obafemi Hamzat on Tinubu’s behalf.

Tinubu, who hasn’t ceased to be in the news since declaring that he has informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his 2023 ambition, was unavoidable absent, officials said.

Leading the array of dignitaries present at the occasion was Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos.

Also gracing the occasion were Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, representatives of Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State, Deputy Governor of Borno State, Vice Chancellors of various universities across the country.

Also present were two former governors of Lagos State, Princess Adejoke Adefulire and Dr Idiat Adegbule.

At the convocation, 76 graduands bagged doctoral degrees while honourary doctorate award was conferred on eminent personalities, including the Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and his Borno State counterpart, Professor Babagana Umaru Zulum, who was represented by his Deputy, Umar Usman Gadaffi.

Also, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa; Chairman of Ikeja Hotel Plc, Mr. Goodie Ibru and the former Chairman of First Bank Plc, Mrs. Ibukunoluwa Abiodun Awosika, were conferred with honourary doctorates.

The rank of Emeritus Professor was conferred on distinguished Professor Peter Akinsola Okebukola, the Chairman of Council of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and on the Council and Board of Trustees of 10 universities across the world.
