Tinubu to Inaugurate World’s Largest Cotton Factory in Ogun State

President Bola Tinubu is set to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the world’s largest cotton and polyester processing factory in Iperu/Ilisan, Ogun State. The massive project, under the Renewed Hope Cotton Resurgent Initiative, will be sited on 400 hectares of land at the Special Agro Processing Zone near Gateway International Airport and is expected to create 250,000 jobs.

Governor Dapo Abiodun announced this during a meeting with former Accountant-General of the Federation, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Madein, and the Iperu Development Association. He emphasized that the factory would transform the region economically, crediting the town’s central location, infrastructure, and access to raw materials for its selection.

Additionally, the Nigerian Air Force has expressed interest in establishing a base in Iperu to enhance security around the airport and neighboring towns.

Governor Abiodun also praised Mrs. Madein for her integrity and service, highlighting her role in attracting key projects to the area. In response, Mrs. Madein thanked the governor for fostering an investment-friendly environment and reaffirmed her commitment to contributing to the state’s development.
