Tragedy in Nasarawa: Armed Men Rape Woman to Death, Kill Husband in Midnight Attack

Grief has engulfed the Angwan Kari community in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State following the horrific murder of a couple, Mr. Williams Wasiu Jimoh and his wife, Mrs. Banke William Jimoh, by unknown assailants in their home on the night of Sunday, April 6.
According to the Keffi Zonal Coordinator of the Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS), Pastor Lee Ngbede, the devout couple were long-standing members of the fellowship and their gruesome deaths have left the Christian community in deep shock.
The discovery of the crime was prompted by a call from Mrs. Jimoh’s father, who became worried after several failed attempts to reach them. A colleague of Mr. Jimoh, upon visiting their apartment, noticed a foul smell and flies at the back window, which led to a police intervention.
When officers forced their way in, they found Mrs. Jimoh’s decomposing body on the bed, in a posture that strongly suggested she had been raped before being killed. Her husband was found near the door, bound and suffering from multiple machete wounds to the head. He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Keffi, where he later died.
Eyewitnesses and residents believe the attack was premeditated, citing the isolated location of the house and the brutal nature of the crime. Some neighbours suspect the involvement of Fulani herders following a recent altercation involving the deceased woman, noting that the machete wounds were similar to those inflicted in previous attacks by suspected herders.
Mrs. Jimoh was buried on April 10 in a cloth due to the advanced decomposition of her body, while her husband is set to be buried on April 16. The shocking crime has sparked outrage and calls for justice, as the community pleads for enhanced security measures.
