VIS Impounds Over 200 Rickety Danfo, Other Vehicles in Lagos Road Safety Crackdown
The Lagos State Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) has impounded over 200 unroadworthy vehicles, including commercial minibuses like Danfo and Korope, in a recent enforcement exercise to enhance road safety and reduce accidents across the state.
Director of VIS, Engr. Akin-George Fashola, stated that the operation targeted all categories of vehicles, not just private ones, emphasizing the agency’s resolve to improve the state’s transport ecosystem. He urged vehicle owners, especially commercial drivers, to ensure their vehicles meet roadworthiness standards before hitting the road.
Fashola added that vehicle inspections can be carried out at any VIS annex office and assured residents that the enforcement drive would be sustained to ensure safer roads in Lagos.
