Suspended deputy commisioner of police, DCP Abba Kyari has now seemingly joined a long list of ‘powerful’ Nigerians who, when faced with the possibility of prosecution, used their health condition to seek soft landing.
Kyari was arrested by the NDLEA over alleged links to a drug cartel. He has also been linked to internet fraudster, Hushpuppi.
Kyari’s lawyer, Cynthia Ikenna, said NDLEA arrested her client on false allegations. She also said Kyari should be granted bail on health grounds.
A court sitting in Abuja on Monday did not grant her request.
