2023: NDLEA writes APC, requests drug test for presidential aspirants

The Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig Gen Buba Marwa (retd), has written a letter to the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC, Sen Abdullahi Adamu.

In the letter, the Marwa asked that NDLEA officials be given access to conduct drug integrity tests for politicians seeking political offices in the country.

Marwa said that he would extend the same invitation to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other parties when they want to conduct their primary elections.

The NDLEA boss, who was speaking during the 1st quarter award ceremony of the agency in Abuja, explained that the drug test is necessary to ensure that politicians are not drug users or addicts.

Marwa said the NDLEA is trying to prevent a situation in which political office holders would use public funds to get high on drugs.
