Karen announced via Twitter in 2013, that she had been diagnosed with cancer. A year after the announcement, Karen again took to social media to announce that she is now cancer-free.

In 2017, media personality Uche Agbai best known as Sensei Uche revealed via social media that he had been diagnosed with stage 3 nasal lymphoma. He went to appeal to Nigerians to help him raise money for treatment which was $21,000. Uche has since been declared cancer free.

Ace Nigerian artiste Banky W announced a few years ago that he was battling skin cancer and had been, for 10 years. The entertainer underwent 3 surgeries and is today cancer-free.

Nigerian artiste Vast was diagnosed with cancer of the blood (Lymphoma) a few years ago. He immediately left the country for treatment in London before he was finally declared cancer-free.

Wole Soyinka

Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka had to undergo treatment after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. According to Soyinka, he underwent treatment for 10 months and is today cancer-free.
