I’m a Proud Member of Celestial Church, I Even Built a Parish — K1 De Ultimate

Fuji music legend, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has publicly declared his deep affiliation with the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), stating that he is a proud and committed member of the church.

In a recent interview with Agbaletu TV, K1, who was born a Muslim, revealed that his spiritual journey led him to explore both Islam and Christianity in his quest to know God better. According to him, this personal search led him to embrace the Celestial Church, where he not only worships but has also built a parish.

“I attend Celestial Church. I am a bonafide member of the Celestial Church. A proud one. In fact, I built a church. I sought different religions while trying to know God in both popular religions. There’s nowhere I didn’t try to find God,” he said.

The Celestial Church of Christ, popularly called “Cele”, is known for its white garments and worship practices that include removing shoes within the church premises.

K1’s revelation comes on the heels of controversy surrounding his use of the term “Ganusi” in reference to Islamic clerics during a discussion ahead of his mother’s burial. The phrase, which quickly went viral, was interpreted by many as a jab at clerics who are believed to attend events for monetary benefits.

The comment drew criticism from some Islamic scholars and members of the public, but the singer stood his ground, insisting he had no regrets and saw no reason to apologise.

Despite the backlash, K1 appears unfazed, choosing instead to highlight his spiritual openness and personal conviction in his religious choices.
