“I’m No Longer Part of the Family” – Kemi Olunloyo Disowns Olunloyo Family After Ex-Governor Father’s Death

Controversial journalist and media personality Kemi Olunloyo has publicly renounced her family following the death of her father, former Oyo State Governor and renowned mathematician, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo.

In a series of emotional videos posted on Facebook and TikTok, Kemi declared that she is no longer part of the Olunloyo family and will not be accepting condolences over her father’s death. Dr. Olunloyo passed away on Sunday, April 6, at the age of 89.

“I am not part of the Olunloyo family anymore,” she stated. “I said it in 2024—I will never return to Nigeria even if my parents died.”

While she said she has forgiven her late father, Kemi accused him of destroying their family unit and emotionally and physically abusing his children. She claimed that although he portrayed her as his favorite to the public, he manipulated and exploited her behind closed doors.

“My father was two different people—one to the world, another at home,” she said. “He used me, he tortured us, he ruined our family.”

Kemi further alleged that her father was deeply involved in occult practices before eventually becoming born again after she confronted him on his 80th birthday. She said he later sought spiritual counsel from Pastor E.A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

A major source of family discord, according to Kemi, was her father’s relationship with his second wife, Aderonke Omololu Olunloyo (formerly Ronke Sonaike), whom he met during his 1983 campaign and later married. Kemi claimed the relationship shattered her mother emotionally.

Neither the Olunloyo family nor representatives of the late former governor have publicly responded to Kemi’s explosive revelations at the time of filing this report.
