Operatives of Ogun State Security Network, Amotekun, attached to Ogbere in the Ijebu-East Local Government Area have arrested a 40-year-old logger, Ogidan Yussuf.
He was arrested for allegedly tearing the genitals of his employer, Oluwo Shakiru, and assaulting his wife over loss of equipment.
The suspect was working for the victim as a saw machine operator before he was arrested.
The state commander of Amotekun, David Akinremi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
Akinremi said the incident happened Tuesday, two months after the suspect had been dodging his boss over the loss of the machine belonging to the victim.
The commander said, “The suspect who works as an operator for the victim allegedly had an altercation over his inability to recover the saw given to the suspect to operate which he claimed was impounded by a forest guard some weeks ago.
“The insistence of the victim to get back his saw, couple with the assault on the victim’s wife by the suspect led to a physical fight.
“In the process, the suspect allegedly gripped the victim’s genitals and almost yanks it off but escape from the scene before he was later arrested by our operatives.
“The victim was rushed to the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital and is responding to treatment while the suspect who confessed to the dastardly act has been handed over to the police.”
