Nigerians demand Rohr’s exit as CAR shock Super Eagles in Lagos

Football fans have called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to sack Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.

The calls followed Nigeria’s home loss to the Central African Republic in Lagos on Thursday.

Although the Super Eagles top Group C in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Africa qualifiers, the loss was unexpected of a team that featured stars from Europe’s top-flight leagues.

Missing two of his key starters, goalkeeper Maduka Okoye and midfielder Alex Iwobi, Rohr’s charges conceded a goal from Karl Namngandaa in the last minute of play after a schoolboy defensive error.

Nigeria will face the Central African Republic on Sunday, October 10 in the second leg of the qualifiers in Cameroon, hoping to put the loss behind them.
