Founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo has announced a major shift in the church’s policy.

The policy change, Ashimolowo told his congregation, will see the pastor’s son, Tobi, serve as the second resident pastor of KICC London headquarters.

The first resident pastor is Ashimolow’s wife, Yemisi.

“We’re changing the policy of KICC in a very major way. From this morning, we will longer have only one resident pastor.

“So, we’ll have two resident pastors. We will have Resident Pastor 1 and Resident Pastor 2. Pastor Yemisi has always been our resident pastor, so she will be Resident Pastor 1.

“Our new resident pastor is Pastor Tobi Ashimolowo,” he said to resounding applauds from the congregation.

“These guys are retiring their father.”

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo has been the Senior Pastor of KICC since 1992.

“He has a dynamic gifting to combine his calling as a pastor and teacher with the roles of mentor, businessman and spiritual father,” a profile on KICC’s website says.

His wife, Yemisi, is described as “a true giver who not only brings the Word but sows practically into the lives of the people where she ministers”.
