Police arrest Femi Falana’s lawyer for defending Ned Nwoko’s ‘enemy’ in court — Sowore claims

Marshal Abubakar, an Abuja-based lawyer, has been arrested, one of his clients Omoyele Sowore claims.

Sowore was recently arrested by the police for allegedly defaming billionaire Ned Nwoko, who is husband to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.

Sowore, in a social media post this morning, claimed that Abubakar has been arrested for suing Nwoko and the police on his (Sowore’s) behalf.

“Nigeria Police Force has just arrested Marshal Abubakar, a lawyer attached to Femi Falana Chambers in Abuja for defending me during my recent spat with the police and so called ‘billionaire’ Ned Nwoko,” Sowore wrote.

“Abubakar was traced to his home and forcefully arrested because he was accused of defending me. They claimed that he embarrassed the police by suing them and Ned Nwoko on my behalf.”

Nwoko had warned days ago that he was coming after bloggers who, according to him, falsely claimed he married a another wife.

It was after that warning that Sowore, who publishes Sahara Reporter, was arrested.

The publisher previously clashed with Nwoko following the arrest of kayanmata seller Jaruma, who was accused of defaming the billionaire and his wife, Regina Daniels.
